Soak 1 cup of the sunflower seeds in 3 cups of water for 1 hour. Drain. |

Place all the ingredients except the remaining ¼ cup of unsoaked sunflower seeds in a food processor, and process until pastelike, stopping occasionally to scrape the sides of the bowl, about 1 minute. |

Line a small glass container with parchment paper. Spread the ¼ cup of unsoaked sunflower seeds in an even layer on the bottom. |

Transfer the pâté to the container, pressing it down and smoothing it out with a spatula. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set. |

Invert onto a serving plate, and sprinkle extra dried basil on the sides if desired. |
