Make this refreshing cobbler with summer-ripe fruit…yum! Add a scoop of ice cream, if you like.

Combine nectarines, brown sugar, spices and salt in a bowl; let stand for 15 minutes. In a saucepan over low heat, combine strawberries, butter and ¼ cup sugar. |

Cook and stir for 5 minutes, until syrupy. Remove from heat; cool. In another bowl, whisk together egg, remaining sugar, baking powder, flour, vanilla and milk. Spread nectarine mixture evenly in an ungreased 13"x 9" glass baking pan. |

Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over nectarines. Dollop with spoonfuls of batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool at least 15 minutes before serving. |
