Directions
Peanut butter and chocolate are one of those combinations that simply work. When you add a fudgy element, it brings the dessert to a whole new level.
Steps
1
Done
|
For the CakeLightly spray a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. |
2
Done
|
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat together the yellow cake mix, eggs, peanut butter, butter, and 1 cup of water on low speed for 30 seconds, then on medium speed for 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the bowl a few times. |
3
Done
|
Warm the fudge sauce in the microwave slightly, just enough that it pours easily. |
4
Done
|
Spoon half the peanut butter batter into the slow cooker, followed by the chocolate fudge sauce, reserving 2 tablespoons of the fudge sauce for the topping. Top with the remaining peanut butter batter. Swirl the batter and fudge sauce together with a knife, but don’t mix them entirely. |
5
Done
|
Cover and cook on High for 1½ to 2 hours, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Transfer the slow cooker insert to a wire rack. Let cool for 15 minutes. |
6
Done
|
Run a sharp knife along the edges of the cake to loosen it from the slow cooker insert. Put a serving platter over the top of the slow cooker insert and invert the platter and insert together so the cake falls out onto the platter. |
7
Done
|
For the ToppingWhile the cake cools, beat the peanut butter and milk together in a medium bowl until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix until smooth. If necessary, gradually add additional milk until the frosting is the desired consistency. |

|
Drizzle the peanut butter frosting over the cake and drizzle with the fudge sauce. Sprinkle the peanut butter cups and chopped peanuts over the top of the cake. Serve. |
