1 Orange Peel

¼ cup Sweet Rice Syrup

3 cups peeled and sliced Macintosh or Granny Smith Apples

1 cup fresh Papaya

¼ cup pure date Sugar

¼ cup pure Maple Syrup

½ teaspoon Allspice
-
½ teaspoon finely chopped fresh Rosemary

¼ teaspoon grated Lemon Peel

1 double prepared Piecrust

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. |

In a small mixing bowl toss together the orange peel and rice syrup. |

Bake on a greased cookie sheet, for 10 minutes. |

Let the candied peel come to room temperature; set aside. |

In a large mixing bowl combine the apples, papaya, date sugar, maple syrup, allspice, rosemary & lemon peel. |

Mix these ingredients well; place them into the prepared pie crust. |

Place the second half of the prepared crust on top of the pie. |

Fold the edges underneath the bottom crust; press the two crusts together tightly. The crust should be sealed. |

Cut four 1-inch slits, equally separated, toward the center of the pie. |

Bake the pie on a cookie sheet to catch any spilling over of the filling for 45 minutes to 1 hour. |
