Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. |

In a medium bowl, mix the flour and sugar together. Add the egg and, using your fingers, knead until crumbly. |

Peel and slice the peaches. Place in an 8 x 8-inch baking pan, filling to three-fourths full. Sprinkle the crumb mixture over top of the peaches. Pour the butter over the top. |

Bake for 35–40 minutes, until brown on top and bubbly. Watch very closely; do not overcook. |
