In a small sauté pan over medium heat, toast the walnuts. Chop them finely and combine with the oil, vinegar, and salt in a large serving bowl. Add the lettuce, radishes, apple, and cucumber to the vinaigrette and toss. |

In a large sauté pan over medium heat, fry the bacon and bread until golden. Sprinkle the mixture on top of the salad along with the cheese. Toss together and season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately with some crusty bread. |
