¼ cup Bourbon

2 sweet Onion

1 tbsp Sugar

2 pounds 80% ground Beef

3 tbsp Bourbon

2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

1½ tsp ground Cumin

1¼ tsp ground Oregano

1¼ tsp table Salt

1 tsp fresh ground Black Pepper

6 slices smoked Provolone Cheese

6 Hamburger Buns
Directions
Burgers cooked on the grill, seasoned with bourbon-infused onions and gooey melted cheese are for the grown-ups only!

Over moderate heat, in a large frying pan or skillet, melt the butter. |

Add the ¼ cup of bourbon followed by the onions, sugar, salt, and pepper. |

Cook while occasionally stirring until the onions are lightly browned and softened, this will take approximately 20 minutes. |

In the meantime, add the ground beef to a bowl, along with 3 tablespoons of bourbon, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, oregano, table salt, and black pepper. |

Using clean hand, form the mixture into six evenly sized patties. |

Preheat your grill and scrape the grill grates clean. |

Place the patties on the grill and sear over high heat before slipping the burgers to finish cooking on the other side, over low heat. |

Cook the burger until an internal thermometer registers 145 degrees F for medium rare of alternatively 160 degrees F medium. |

Lay a slice of cheese over each burger and cook for 60 seconds to melt. |

Arrange a burger on the bottom half of each bun. |

Spoon the caramelized onions on top of the burgers along with some torn lettuce. Top with the other half of the bun and enjoy. |
