Directions
Madeleines are a light, buttery French cookie. You need a madeleine pan to get the shell-shape for which madeleines are famous. But if you don’t have one, you can still use a baking pan and cut the madeleines into regular squares. Enjoy these with a good cup of coffee.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. |

Thoroughly butter the Madeleine molds. This is important. |

Whip the eggs, vanilla and orange liqueur with a hand mixer for 5 minutes. |

Slowly add the sugar and keep whipping. |

Add the flour and baking powder and thoroughly combine. |

Transfer the batter into the Madeleine molds. 7. Bake for 12 minutes. |

Invert the Madeleine pan to loosen the Madeleines. 9. Dust with confectioners’ sugar. |
